Lindsey Boman, MA, LPC

Lindsey is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. She earned her Master’s degree in Psychology at West Texas A&M University. While there, she became interested in clinical research and completed a thesis that sought to clarify the neurobehavioral effects of long-term Risperidone (antipsychotic) treatment. This research was later published in the Journal of Behavioural Brain Research. She believes that having a background in research has helped her to remain open, curious, and willing to learn about therapies that may be beneficial for her clients.

Lindsey spent her practicum at the Amarillo VA, where she worked with military personnel who suffered from depression, relational issues, anxiety, and PTSD. She then had the opportunity to serve as the Drug Court Counselor at adult probation. During that time, she worked with those experiencing symptoms of depression, trauma, postpartum depression, grief, anxiety, attachment issues and those in recovery from substance abuse.

Lindsey Boman enjoys working with adults, those in the military and first responders. She specializes in treating trauma, depression, and substance abuse. She has training in EMDR therapy which is an empirically validated treatment that helps clients to process traumatic or “stuck” experiences more efficiently. She also has experience and training in exposure therapy, interpersonal psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and somatic approaches to therapy. Read Lindsey’s blog about addiction here.
